-ICU Nurse Career Talk – The PTO has created an exciting opportunity for students during intervention time. They have invited special guest speakers to school! Come hear what it is like to be an ICU Nurse! This event will happen in Room 216 on Monday Nov. 2^nd from 10:05-10:51AM.

-ASVAB – Tuesday November 17^th at 8:00 AM. Please see Mrs. Huber or your counselor to sign up to take the test before Friday November 6^th. This opportunity is only available for 10-12^th graders. See ASVAB Career Exploration Program to learn more.

Apprenticeship opportunities:

-Operating Engineers Apprenticeship, must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma, includes heavy equipment operator, hoisting engineer (crane) and heavy duty repair mechanic. Visit Operating Engineers for more information.

-Cement Masons and Platerers, must by 18 years old and have a high school diploma, combines structured classroom instruction with thousands of hours of on-the-job training for placement and finishing of concrete and interior wall and ceiling plastering. -Meatcutter Pre-Apprenticeship Program, must be 18 years old, flexible 8 week training program in preparation for the Meatcutter Apprenticeship Program, admission is free. Visit We Train.

-Puget Sound Energy Pathway to Apprenticeship (PTA), must be 18 years old. Programs in Substation Wire, Hydro Electrician, Hydro Mechanic, Electric Meter and Combustion Turbine Specialist. Earn as you learn with no out-of-pocket costs. Visit Pathway to Apprenticeship Program to learn more.

-IAM/Boeing Apprenticeships, must be 18 years old, have passed English and Algebra with a C or better, and be a high school graduate. Receive college credit and on the job training. Learn more at IAM/Boeing Apprenticeships.

-Northwest Maritime Apprenticeships, must be 18 years old with a high school diploma, work and learn about becoming a Marine Service Technician, visit Maritime Apprenticeship to learn more.

Scholarship opportunities coming up:

-AWS Welder Training Scholarship:  $1000 scholarship deadline 11/30/26. Must be seeking welder training in a certificate program less than two years in length through a trade school, community college or other facility providing welder training. Check here for more information Welder Scholarship. 

-Hagan Scholarship, up to $7500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters, deadline 12/1/26. Nationwide need-based merit scholarship for goal driven students who have at least a 3.5 GPA and are enrolled in a four-year college or university the fall semester following graduation. Apply at Hagan Scholarship.

-McDermott Scholars Program at UT Dallas, must apply to UT Dallas well before the 12/1/26 deadline to receive an invitation to apply. Full tuition plus living stipends and a $15,000 fund. Must meet a minimum GPA and have scored at least a 1490 on the SAT or a 34 on the ACT. For more information, click here McDermott Scholars Program.

-Arthur M & Berdena King Eagle Scout Scholarship, $10,000, deadline is 12/31/26. Students must be an Eagle Scout who is currently registered in an active unit and have plans to continue into college or university in the Fall of 2027. See Eagle Scout Scholarship for more information.

-Science Buddy Scholarship, $2750, deadline is 12/31/26. Students must be pursuing a science degree, need to be enrolled in college or university by Sept. 2027, and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. See Science Buddy .

-Healthcare Leaders Scholarship, $1500, deadline 12/31/26. Students must be pursuing a further education related to nursing or medicine and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Healthcare Leaders Scholarship.

-Marie Moebus Presidential Award, for students interested in attending Montana Technological University, deadline 1/15/27. Covers tuition and more. Must have a GPA of 3.75 or higher, have an ACT of at least 30 or an SAT of at least 1410, be actively engaged in the community and school. Students can access their scholarship through their Montana Tech application page.

-Washington State Fair Foundation Scholarships, up to $5000, applications open 12/1/26 and close 2/2/27. Several different scholarships available, fair involvement not needed for all of the opportunities. Submit one application to be considered for all of the options. -Providence General Children’s Association Scholarship Opportunity, up to $3000, due 3/29/27. Must have completed 75 volunteer hours in a field involving the health and/or welfare of children. See Providence General Children's Association for more information on this scholarship.
