Kamiak High School Fight Song

“Mighty is the team in purple, silver, and white!

Full of fight and loyalty,

we'll prove our might tonight.

Let's go Knights!

On our way to victory

we wear our colors with pride.

Stand up and cheer for all to hear

the Knights of Kamiak High.”

Land acknowledgement

We acknowledge we are on the ancestral homelands of the Coast Salish Peoples, who have lived in the Salish Sea basin since time immemorial. We respect this place and honor the sacred spiritual connection to the land, water, and its people, past, present, and future.

By acknowledging these lands and their original Indigenous inhabitants, we reach back to our own indigenous roots and reflect on the impacts of colonialism and the lands from which all our people come. We are connected to our ancestors through this connection to land, for the land is what connects us all.

We express our deepest respect and gratitude to the traditional people of this territory, the Snohomish and Tulalip Tribes, for their enduring care and protection of the land which we currently share.

Kamiak High School Alma Mater

Hail to the halls of Kamiak,
And to Puget Sound below;
Hail to our Alma Mater,
We will challenge every foe.
For we're loyal to the knighthood;
Our honor we'll uphold;
We'll gladly give our hearts to thee,
To the Kamiak Knights so bold.

    August 12, 2024

To Kamiak Student-Athletes, Parents, Coaches, & Teaching Staff:

We are very excited to begin another great school year at Kamiak High School. We are very proud of all of our team’s and student-athlete’s accomplishments at Kamiak High School. Our strength as an Athletic Department comes from our outstanding coaches, our great kids, and the amazing support from our community. We are striving for excellence in everything we do in the Athletic Department. We work towards excellence by emphasizing good sportsmanship, learning life’s lessons through participation in sports, and having high expectations for our student-athletes in the classroom, on the playing field, and in the community.

We are very fortunate at Kamiak to have an excellent teaching staff that cares immensely about kids. Our teachers will do everything that they can to help our students learn how to be proactive and successful in the classroom. We also have many academic support programs at Kamiak High School if your student-athlete wants extra help with their studies. Please make sure that your student-athlete is taking the initiative to address their academic performance in each class by speaking with their teachers often, staying organized, discussing concerns with their counselor and/or their administrator, or coming to see the Athletic Director for information about our academic support programs at Kamiak.

In an effort to be transparent in the way we will monitor and maintain high eligibility expectations in the classroom for our Kamiak student-athletes, we wanted to share our process with you for the Fall, Winter, and Spring sport’s seasons. The following pages contain specific dates for each sports season that our coaches, teachers, student-athletes, and parents will want to be sure to put on their calendars as important benchmarks. Our expectation is that our student-athletes are passing 5 out of their 6 classes at all times. Our grade check dates are designed to help support our athletes meet these expectations.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about our grade check process that I can address.

Thank you for your continued support of Kamiak Athletics and our student-athletes.

    Go Knights!

Kamiak Student-Athlete Transportation Information

  • Mukilteo School District Athletics: Process for Parent/Guardian to Transport their Student Athlete

On behalf of the Mukilteo School District Athletic Department, it is the expectation when transportation is provided for an athletic event, that all student athletes will take advantage of the transportation provided to and/or from the athletic event. In the event a parent/guardian is requesting to transport their student athlete to and/or to/from an athletic event due to an extenuating circumstance and when transportation is being provided, the following procedures must be followed. Student does not need to complete this form if they are solely going home from an event with a parent as long as they sign out on the sign out log prior to leaving the event.

Prior to allowing a parent/legal guardian to transport their student athlete, a Parent/Guardian Transportation Release form must be completed and returned to the coach two school days prior to the planned activity.

    • The form can be downloaded from the MSD Athletic Department website.
    • Multiple event dates for a specific sport may be listed on the form. The dates listed must coordinate with scheduled events. If an event is rescheduled, a new form must be submitted and approved.
    • For example, if a parent/guardian must transport their student athlete for three of the scheduled events for a specific sport, one Parent/Guardian Transportation Release form can be completed listing the three dates the parent/guardian will be transporting their student athlete. If one of the events listed on the form is rescheduled, the parent/guardian must complete another Parent/Guardian Transportation Release form listing the rescheduled event.

Approval and Signatures: Parent/Guardian Transportation Release Form

    • Athlete gives form to coach
    • Form must be completed and returned to the coach two school days prior to the event
    • Coach signs form(s) upon approval and submits to the school athletic director for final approval
    • School athletic director signs form granting approval
    • If school athletic director denies the request, the parent/guardian and coach will be contacted prior to the event
    • School athletic director keeps form(s) on file

On the day of the event

    • The coach must confirm with the school athletic director the list of students and the names of the parents/guardians approved to transport their student athlete to and/or to/from the event.
      • The coach must maintain a Parent/Guardian Release to Transport Sign-Out Log for each athletic event and submit to the school athletic director the following school day.
      • The school athletic director must keep the log on file. The log will be provided by the Athletic Department and it does not take the place of the Parent/Guardian Transportation Release form; the log is in addition to the form.
    • The coach or the school athletic director must complete the log with the following information:
      • List of students approved to be released to parents/guardians to transport their own student athlete from the athletic event (completed log)
      • List of students approved to be transported to and/or to/from and event (completed Parent/Guardian Transportation Release form.)
      • Students approved to be released to their parents/guardians will be required to ride the bus back to the school from the event if the student’s parents/guardians are not present upon the time of team departure. A coach cannot leave a student at an event unattended (regardless of parent/guardian consent via a phone call, e-mail, text message or note) nor can the coach delay team departure to wait for a parent/guardian in route to pick-up their student athlete.

  • Dear Kamiak Student-Athletes, Parents, Coaches, & Teaching Staff:

We need your help in creating a positive atmosphere at all our Athletic competitions.  Our players need and appreciate your support as they compete against their opponents in Kamiak's name.  Our athletes demonstrate the highest degree of respect for their opponents, and we expect the same from our fans.  Our Athletic department is striving to become the best in WESCO.  We can't achieve that goal unless our fans demonstrate the same level of integrity as our athletes and coaches.  With this in mind, please make sure that all of our support is positive and that we NEVER make negative comments about our opponents, "boo" our opponents, or make disparaging comments directed toward officials.

We want to encourage all of our students and staff to wear your Knight Spirit Gear every Friday at school and to all of our sporting contests throughout the year. Here are a couple of reminders for all of our fans to have a fun and positive experience at Wesco sporting events:

    • Our athletes and coaches demonstrate great sportsmanship when they represent Kamiak High School and we expect the same level of sportsmanship from our student body and our community
    • All fan cheers must be positive and supportive of our team
    • We never make negative comments directed towards the officials, our opponents, or their fans, or that single out an opposing player
    • Positive Signs are allowed with game manager or administrator approval
    • Face paint is allowed as long as the game staff can identify who you are
    • No body paint is allowed
    • No artificial noisemakers are allowed at sporting contests including cow bells, whistles, or air horns
    • All bags are subject to search as a condition of entry into the sporting contest
    • Remember no backpacks are allowed, no open containers, and no re-entry at Goddard Stadium and at Kamiak
    • Please make sure that your ride home will arrive to pick you up no later than 15 minutes from the end of the contest
    • For a home football game at Goddard Stadium please have your parent/guardian pick you up no later than 9:15pm
    • Remember to be loud, be proud, and be positive

Thank you for your continued support of Kamiak Athletics! Go Knights!!!

Weekly practices occur to prepare for competitions.  Athletes and Partners are treated as equals and each sport season works on sport specific skill development and overall fitness.
