The Knights also posted the highest overall score of the day across all divisions, marking an exceptional start to their competition season. With this performance, Kamiak secured its spot at the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) State Cheerleading Championships Feb. 6–7 at Battle Ground High School.

This year’s qualification marks the seventh consecutive state appearance for Kamiak Cheer — a perfect record since the team began competing during the 2018–2019 season. The Knights are ranked high at both the State and National levels, having represented Kamiak and the Mukilteo community at the National High School Cheerleading Championships in Orlando in 2024 and 2025.

“Our team continues to surprise itself every day. Throughout the year, we work hard to be a beacon of light for our fellow Kamiak sports teams, but during competition season, it becomes our time to shine,” said senior and captain Gia McMurchie. “I remind my teammates to take pride in what they do and to perform for themselves.” Go, Knights!
