    Clearance Information:

    Each athlete must be cleared through the Kamiak High School Athletic Office before participating in practice. Parent/guardian must register student-athlete online through FinalForms by August 16th.  Do not wait until the first day of tryouts/practice.  See Athletic Registration Information in the General Information section above for more details.  

    Practice begins August 26 at 9:00 a.m. 

    The practice schedule for the first two week is as follows:

    August 27, 28, 29 at 3 p.m.

    August 30 at 8 a.m.

    September 3 at 3 p.m.

    September 4 and after … after school, 2:15 p.m. 

    *Practice times subject to change. Pay attention to the summer letter (email) and any announcements on Schoology regarding the start of the season.

    **Minimum of 10 practices to be eligible to compete.

    Come prepared to run each day with running shoes and appropriate running clothes. We have limited ability to store gear and personal items, so if there are items you don’t absolutely need, leave them at home. DO NOT bring headphones, earbuds, air-pods, or anything that inhibits your ability to be completely connected with what’s happening around you. Practice lasts 2 hours during the first 2 weeks.

    Make sure your clearance is complete or you will not be allowed to participate.

    • There will be no locker/dressing rooms available. Come dressed for the weather, in full practice or game gear.  
    • If you have a health condition, you must bring a dedicated supply of any medication (e.g., inhaler, Epipen, etc.) you may need daily. Be sure you know how to use them. Coaches do not have access to medical supplies or files locked in the health room. 
    • Minimum of 12 practices to be eligible to compete.

    Thank you for your interest in joining the Kamiak Girls Swim Team. Listed below are several deadlines and start dates. All swimmers are required to purchase a team suit and cap each season (about $70).

    Do you want to be ready for the first day of practice? Summer swimming would be a great idea! The more practice, the better. Our team consistently places high at the district and state level due to great work ethic and commitment. If you have questions about available teams in the area, contact a coach or captain.

    Athletic registration must be completed online through FinalForms. Don’t wait until the last minute. Get a jump start on completing your 2024-25 online registration when it opens up at the end of June.     KAMIAK OFFICES are closed during the summer and RE-OPEN in mid-August.

    ATHLETIC REGISTRATION SHOULD BE COMPLETED BY AUGUST 21, 2024

      • Athletic registration must be completed by parent/guardian. online through FinalForms. 
      • Student-athlete will receive email to sign forms after parent registers them in FinalForms.
      • Valid sports physical must be on file at the Athletic Office.
      • Athletic clearance required prior to the first practice.

    PRACTICE SCHEDULE

    First day of practice: Monday, Aug. 26, 10 a.m. at Kamiak HS Pool.

      • Arrive by at least 15 minutes prior to start time. ALWAYS be punctual.

    2024 Tryout Schedule:

    Tryouts:  Monday August 26-30

    JV: August 26-29 4pm to 6pm, August 30th 9am-11am

    Varsity (for returning Varsity and by invitation only): August 26-29 10am to noon, August 30th TBD

    ***Players may be asked to be moved up/down after competition during the tryout week***

    First Varsity practice: Saturday August 31st at 10am and First JV practice: TBD

    Fall Tryouts are very important - this determines who makes the JV and Varsity teams.  Unless pre-approved, Student-Athletes must attend tryouts daily.

    2024 Practice Schedule:

    JV: 2:15-3:45pm

    Varsity: 3:45-5:45pm

    Minimum Practices - Student-athlete must complete 7 days of fall practice before they are eligible to compete.

    Season - Approximately Sept. 5 - Oct. 15 (Conference tournament begins the following week). 

    Matches - Begin at 3:30 until team finishes. Approximately 2 matches per week.

    Varsity team - 2 singles and 2 doubles team represent Kamiak at District in October

    State Tournament - Held in Tri-Cities, Washington Memorial Day weekend 2024

    Varsity Expectations:

    • Attend summer workouts
    • Participate in club advance group sessions
    • Participate in summer conditioning schedule
    • Compete regularly (singles/doubles)
    • Play at least two summer tournaments (GP/Snohomish Smash/USTA Tourn.)

    Junior Varsity Expectations:

    • Attend summer workouts
    • Be an enthusiastic learner
    • Get some technical stroke training
    • Begin to compete w/family & friends (play sets/matches regularly)

    General Expectations:

    • Be selfless - the team is bigger than the individual
    • Be ready physically and mentally every day to compete
    • Expect to be better players at the end of each week. 
    • Learn from matches played win or lose

    Winning Unified Bowling Team from 2023

    What is Unified Bowling?

    Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding. At Kamiak, Unified Bowling is just like any other sport. Weekly practices occur to prepare for competitions. Athletes and Partners are treated as equals and each sport season works on sport specific skill development and overall fitness. Inclusive athletics for all!

     

    To register for Unified Bowling, Please review and complete the following:

    Thursdays will be fitness: 2-3:30pm at the Kamiak fields.

    There will be no fall state games offered by Special Olympics this year.

     

    Please let me know if you have any questions. I know timelines are tight, but we are trying our best to offer what we can given date changes. Special Olympics is giving no exceptions to late registrations this year.
